Scotts Bluff National Monument Oregon Trail Ruts Landscape Study and Environmental Assessment

The National Park Service has prepared this combined Landscape Study/ Environmental Assessment with the intent to support management decisions for the Oregon Trail historic resources within the monument and to supplement the existing 1998 General Management Plan (GMP). The purpose of this report is to provide the NPS with an assessment of the character-defining features of the Oregon Trail, document historic and existing conditions, and develop specific treatment recommendations to ensure the future protection of the Oregon Trail and its natural and cultural resources.

Be aware that the document is rather large and has been broken down into small, easier to download segments. There are many photos and illustrations, especially in Chapter Three, that makes it difficult to provide in a single file.
