Public Scoping/Section 106 Consultation

The National Park Service (NPS) and the Eisenhower Memorial Commission seek to establish the design for the memorial to Dwight D. Eisenhower (the undertaking) on the approved site at Maryland and Independence Avenues, and 4th and 6th Streets in southwest Washington, DC. This site was selected by NPS and EMC and approved by NCPC and CFA in 2006.

NPS hosted an initial public scoping meeting/Section 106 consultation meeting on April 22, 2010, followed by a May 21, 2010 Section 106 consultation meeting, and again on October 4, 2011. These events provided an opportunity for interested members of the public, agencies, consulting parties, and organizations to learn about the project, ask questions, provide comments, and identify concerns they feel should be addressed during the review process.

See below documents for information about the previous and ongoing consultation activities.
