November 2023 - Finding of No Significant Impact


The National Park Service (NPS) is pleased to announce the release of the Comprehensive Site Management Plan (CSMP) for the Mt. Wanda unit at John Muir National Historic Site. The plan identifies new visitor opportunities, addresses facility needs, provides long-term resource management strategies, and recommends improvements for the connectivity of Mt. Wanda to other areas of the park and the broader community.

In May of 2023, the National Park Service released the Mt. Wanda Comprehensive Site Management Plan/Environmental Assessment (CSMP/EA). After thorough consideration of the potential for environmental impacts and the comments received, the NPS determined a full environmental impact statement (EIS) was not needed and has released the plan with an associated Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
