Lincoln Home National Historic Site » Add pedestrian counters along main pedestrian thoroughfares in park. » Document List

One outdoor-grade pedestrian counter will be added near the main pedestrian walkway from the Visitor Parking Lot towards the Visitor Center and four counters will be added at various locations along 8th Street, the main thoroughfare in the park including one attached on the south-side Lincoln Home fence post. The fences are part of the historic landscape but are not historic. They are approximately 5-6 years old. Each counter consists of a wand-like infrared counter attached by black cable to a lockable plastic battery case, approximately 3" x 5". The battery case may be painted to match the fence to which it is attached (to clarify- -in the attached photo, the battery case is printed with green camouflage) . Each counter will be installed approximately 3' from the ground on the side of a fence post.
