The Headquarters Area Plan Environmental Assessment presents alternatives for implementing components of the 1997 Entrance Area and Road Corridor Development Concept Plan that are in the headquarters area, including alternatives for implementing the recommendations of a Cultural Landscape Report for the Headquarters Historic District. The plan addresses vehicle circulation, pedestrian circulation, office and residential space, landscaping and lighting, parking, and visitor opportunities in the headquarters area. Among other goals, the Headquarters Area Plan provides a blueprint for enhancing visitor opportunities to experience the Headquarters Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been the subject of restoration efforts over the past several years.
The Environmental Assessment was available for public review from September 11 through October 12, 2007. A Finding of No Significant Impact was signed on January 11, 2008.
