During a flash flood in June at Arches the ditch that catches surface runoff from slickrock above the headquarters area was breached in two locations near the west end of the ditch. Surface water has now run across the area in back of the VC, across the employee access road in front of the Rock House and into the field where the VC drain field and septic tank is located. Sand has been washed into the septic tanks and manholes from water flooding over the area through the breached ditch.
Approximately 75 LF of ditch will be temporarily repaired using a backhoe in order to direct the water back into the ditch.
