Cut and replace drywall where needed to replace broken plumbing in Robinson House (HS-10)

Lincoln Home National Historic Site » Cut and replace drywall where needed to replace broken plumbing in Robinson House (HS-10) » Document List

During recent sub-zero weather, a pipe leading to the sink in the first floor restroom in the Robinson House (HS-10) froze and later burst. There were no staff in the building and the thermostat had been turned too low. The pipe is behind a modern drywall chase and must be accessed by temporarily removing the sink and cutting drywall. Once the pipe is replaced with PVC piping in-kind, the wall will be patched with new drywall in-kind, and the wall repainted. In the basement, the pipe leaked extensively on other galvanized pipes and into the HVAC ductwork. These will be repaired or replaced in-kind as needed.
