Resurface Riley Creek Campground Loops and Access Road

Denali National Park and Preserve » Resurface Riley Creek Campground Loops and Access Road » Document List

This project will pave two of the loops (wolf and caribou) and the access road in the Riley Creek Campground area (b. 2002). Each loop is between .53 and .56 miles in length, and the average roadway width is twelve feet, for a total of approximately 102,000 square feet of paving.

Project plan as of 2/12/19
- crushing asphalt in the 5-mile pit (2019)
- removing current layer of asphalt and then paving anew 2 campground loops (2020 or 2021) in addition to access road.
-No additional excavation or digging beyond the existing depth and width of the footprint of the loops is planned. Low spots (where water tends to stand) will have additional fill and crowning installed to remedy flooding.
