The Southeast Utah Group has received a request for a commercial film permit from Dark Spark Productions, for a car commercial.
Filming and staging would occur on the main (paved) park roads and viewpoints in Arches National Park and the Needles and Island in the Sky districts of Canyonlands National Park between December 15 and 21, 2007. Traffic would be stopped off and on for up to ten minutes at a time to permit filming of vehicles driving the road, then would be released for ten minutes. County law enforcement officers would manage traffic control. One or two NPS staff would monitor the filming. Traffic closures may be modified by the NPS monitor depending on levels of visitation and traffic flow. Up to 35 production crew, with 15 vehicles, would be permitted.
