Accessible Picnic Sites at Devils Garden and Balanced Rock Picnic Areas

Neither of these picnic areas is equipped with a handicap-accessible site. These sites receive heavy visitor use and there is a need for accessible sites to better serve the visitors of the park.
Devils Garden Site
The site where the old vault toilet was removed in the Devils Garden large picnic area site will be used to minimize resource damage. Work will include removing existing concrete and installing a new pad on the existing foot print. New pad will be approximately 16 ft by 16 ft. All broken concrete on the walk way will be removed and replaced. During construction a small area of the parking lot and walk will be closed for short periods of time. A construction fence will be installed around the handicap site area.
Balanced Rock Picnic Area
This project will involve one of the existing picnic sites. Work will include hauling in fill material to make a level site and installing colored concrete for handicap parking and picnic area. The picnic area will be approximately 16 feet by 16 feet. The parking area will be approximately 20ft by 30ft. This site will be closed during construction.
