Old Faithful Cabin Repurposing and Dormitory Construction EA

Yellowstone National Park » Old Faithful Cabin Repurposing and Dormitory Construction EA » Document List

A plan to return 28 cabin buildings (67 units) that are presently used for concessioner employee housing in the Old Faithful Lodge Area to visitor use and construct a new dormitory in the Old Faithful Administrative Area for employees displaced from the repurposed cabin units has been approved.

The selected action will allow for additional affordable lodging options in Yellowstone National Park by providing a potential increase of approximately 134 overnight visitors each night at Old Faithful during the summer season. Other improvements to the cabins include rehabilitating the interior of the units with new floor coverings, wall coverings, electrical systems, bathroom fixtures, and gas heaters. Pathways to the cabins will be improved for safety and accessibility.
