Asan and Agat Units Management Plan
War in the Pacific National Historical Park » Asan and Agat Units Management Plan » Document List
The FONSI and the UMP/EA are available by clicking on the "Document List" link on the left side of this page.
The plan provides long-term management guidance for the Asan Beach, Asan Inland, Agat, and Mt. Alifan Units, including the most visited sites in the park. The four units allow people to explore the terrain where some of the fiercest fighting took place during the World War II Battle of Guam. These sites protect cultural resources that reveal a rich and layered history before, during, and after the battle. They additionally are host to an exceptional diversity of native terrestrial and marine species. The unit management plan identifies new or improved visitor opportunities, balances facility needs with resource preservation, and describes how the park will proactively manage impacts from climate change.
The UMP/EA was available for public review and comment between January 16 and February 17, 2024. A summary of the public comments, along with NPS responses is included in the FONSI.
Thank you for your thoughtful contributions to the planning process!
