Proposed Smoke Free Park Designation

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area » Proposed Smoke Free Park Designation » Document List

In 2010, Whiskeytown National Recreation Area adopted a smoke free policy for its four designated swimming beaches. This was met with high public approval and has been successfully implemented. The National Park Service is now proposing a smoke free park policy that would prohibit smoking on all park beaches and trails. Smoking would be allowed in personal vehicles in parking lots and on personal boats. A designated smoking area would be established at Park Headquarters (Maintenance Yard Loading Dock) for park employees.

The National Park Service is seeking your input on this proposed smoking policy change. Please join us at a public meeting on April 28, 2015 to discuss the issue (click Meeting Notices on the left of the screen for details) or provide comments using the Open for Comment link on the left of the screen.
