News Release Inviting Public Scoping

The National Park Service invites public input during the scoping period from October 5 - 30, 2020 regarding the proposed lahar detection system and volcano monitoring network expansion at Mount Rainier National Park. Please explore the links on the project page for more information regarding the proposed system expansion. Public scoping provides an opportunity for people to provide input early in the process on matters related to the proposed action, environmental issues that should be addressed, potential alternatives, and sources of data that should be considered. This input will help inform the development of the environmental assessment (EA) document. The EA will be written this fall and made available for public review and comment this winter.
