Final Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan/ EIS

Dear Interested Party,

The National Park Service (NPS) is pleased to announce the release of the Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (Plan/EIS) for Lake Meredith National Recreation Area. The purpose of this Final Plan/EIS is to guide and direct the actions of the NPS in the management of off-road vehicles use at the Recreation Area. The plan designates routes and areas where off-road driving is allowed within the recreation area.

A Draft Plan/EIS was available for public and agency review and comment from January 25, 2013 through March 26, 2013. Copies of the document were distributed to individuals, agencies, organizations, and local libraries/community centers. The document was also available online. The Final Plan/EIS provides responses to substantive comments made on the Draft Plan/EIS and incorporates those comments and suggested revisions where appropriate.

No sooner than 30 days after the Environmental Protection Agency's publication of a Notice of Availability of the Final Plan/EIS in the Federal Register, the Regional Director of the NPS's Intermountain Region will sign a Record of Decision (ROD). The ROD will document approval of the Final Plan/EIS and identify the selected alternative for implementation.

If you would like to request a hardcopy of the document, you may obtain one at the Headquarters at 419 E. Broadway, Fritch, TX 79036, or call (806) 857- 3151 and request a copy.

Thank you for your interest in Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and in the development of the Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement.
Sincerely,

Robert J. Maguire
Superintendent
