GGNRA Fire Management Plan, Final EIS

**This document is not open for public comment. Provided for background information.**

National Park Service Management Policies (2006) require all parks with vegetation capable of burning to have a fire management plan (FMP) that meets the requirements of federal wildland fire management policy and conforms to federal environmental laws. Adopted in February 2006, the FMP for GGNRA was developed through a public NEPA planning process that included an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that analyzed the potential environmental effects of several fire management strategies for the park and Record of Decision (ROD) that documented GGNRA's decision-making process in selecting an alternative. The alternative selected for implementation by GGNRA is Alternative C from the FEIS. Section 2.3 and 2.4 of Chapter II describes the range of wildland fire management actions that GGNRA can implement under the FMP/EIS.
