Minidoka National Historic Site: Guard Tower Reconstruction Project

The Friends of Minidoka were awarded a grant from the 2012 Japanese American Confinement Sites Grant Program to restore the entrance of the camp to more closely resemble what former incarcerees witnessed when confined at Minidoka.

The focal point of this project will be a guard tower constructed and designed in partnership with Boise State University's Department of Construction Management. They will develop a class to research, construct, and install the guard tower at the Minidoka National Historic Site. This class is scheduled to take place in the 2013 fall semester with installation of the tower in the spring 2014.
