Environmental Assessment/Plan of Operations


The National Park Service (NPS), in accordance with Section 9.52 (b) of Title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations has received from M&M Royalty, Ltd., a Plan of Operations for the purpose of operating one well and drilling and producing up to three new oil/gas wells on the private property of Astorhurst and Prinios, in Walton Hills, Ohio. The proposed site is located within the boundaries of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The NPS has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) which evaluates potential impacts associated with the proposed drilling operation located within the park.

These documents were on public review from March 3, 2009 until August 9, 2009. A required notice in the Federal Register appeared July 10, 2009.

The NPS has selected Alternative B, the Proposed Action as outlined in the Plan of Operation for implementation. A Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) was signed on August 27, 2009.
