May 2007 Environmental Assessment

There are separate files below for the May 2007 Environmental Assessment and three associated Appendices for Narrowband/Digital Radio System Conversion at Grand Canyon National Park. The files were separated to keep file sizes small enough to allow downloading on a variety of computer systems.

The Environmental Assessment contains project purpose and need, a description of the alternatives, and an analysis of the environmental consequences of the alternatives.

Appendix A contains a copy of the documents sent during the September 2006 scoping period for the project.

Appendix B contains a Minimum Requirements Analysis related to the park's recommended wilderness, and the adjacent Mt. Logan Wilderness.

Appendix C contains maps of the proposed sites.

The press release announcing availability of the Environmental Assessment for public review is also included below.

Comments may be submitted on-line by following instructions at this site. The comment period is open until July 9, 2007. A letter from the Superintendent concerning release of the Environmental Assessment for public comment is reproduced on the home page for this project.
