Virgin Islands National Park » Public Involvement for the Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA) Site Assessment at Caneel Bay Resort » Document List
The NPS has prepared an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis Report (EE/CA Report), which documents the results of the assessment, compares alternatives to address unacceptable human health and ecological risk, and identifies a preferred removal action. The EE/CA Report was finalized in September 2021 and was followed by an Action Memorandum in October 2021 selecting removal actions to address contamination in the engineering and maintenance area (Area 2) and the landfill near Honeymoon Beach (Area 3).
In November 2021 and January 2022, the NPS conducted additional sampling to address data gaps identified in the September 2021 EE/CA Report. The NPS has prepared an EE/CA Report Addendum, which documents the results of the additional sampling, evaluates alternatives to address unacceptable human health and ecological risk, and identifies a recommended removal action, in addition to the removal actions selected in the October 2021 Action Memorandum
The NPS values and encourages public participation and invites the public to comment on the EE/CA Addendum report during the public comment period, September 13 - October 12, 2022, and will also hold public meetings to discuss the report and the results of the assessment on September 14 and September 27, 2022. Links to these virtual meetings are on this website.
Reports, the Administrative Record, and other documents relating to this assessment are available on this website.
