The NPS values and encourages public participation and will share opportunities about future public comment periods throughout this process. After the on-site assessment is completed, NPS will prepare an Engineering Evaluation/ Cost Analysis Report (EE/CA Report), which will document the results of the assessment, compare removal action alternatives to address any identified unacceptable risks to human health or the environment, and recommend actions for cleanup.

Virgin Islands National Park will provide notice of the opportunity for the public to comment on the EE/CA Report when it is complete, which could take several months. NPS will also hold a public meeting to discuss the report and the results of the assessment more directly with the public. Documents related to earlier steps are available on this website.

During the assessment, community members may also reach out to the park for more information: Nigel Fields, Superintendent, (340) 626-2806; viis_interpretation@nps.gov
