Plan Process

North Cascades National Park Service Complex continues to seek sufficient funding to complete a Wilderness Stewardship Plan for the Stephen Mather Wilderness. In the meantime, park staff are completing steps that will set the groundwork for developing such a plan.

Step 3. Complete a State of the Wilderness Report
Step 4. Define purpose and need/develop preliminary alternatives
Step 5. Conduct external scoping
Step 6. Refine alternatives
Step 7. Identify environmental impacts and select preferred alternative
Step 8. Prepare draft plan/environmental document
Step 9. Public review of draft plan/environmental document
Step 10. Analysis of public comment
Step 11. Prepare final plan/decision document
Step 12. Release final plan/decision document to the public
