Fort Vancouver NHS is conducting an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA) of the East and South Vancouver Barracks property that was relinquished from the U.S. Army Dept. of Defense to the National Park Service, Dept. of the Interior in May 2012. An EE/CA is necessary to meet the regulatory requirements of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). This EE/CA project is necessary in order to further delineate the nature and extent of potential soil-based environmental contamination within the East and South Vancouver Barracks.
