The NPS is preparing this plan/EA in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), which requires federal agencies to analyze impacts to the natural and human environment for any major federal actions, such as the development of this plan. The following highlights important steps in the NEPA process and an anticipated timeline:

Step 2. Analyze Public Comment - April 2013
Step 3. Transition to an EA instead of an EIS / Preparation of the EA - May 2013 to October 2014
Step 4. Public Review and Comment on the EA (30 days) - November to December 2014 *
Step 5. Analyze Public Comment - December 2014
Step 6. Prepare Finding of No Significant Impact - January 2015
