Plan Process

The purpose of the Proposed Florida Bay Pole and Troll Zone is to provide protection to sensitive submerged aquatic vegetation resources and enhance visitor experiences in a high-use portion of Florida Bay.

Step 1. Define purpose and need/develop preliminary alternatives
Step 2. Conduct external scoping
Step 3. Refine project proposal/alternatives including recommended alternative site
Step 4. Identify environmental impacts of selected alternative
Step 5. Develop draft Compendium regulations to implement the pole and troll zone
Step 6. Prepare appropriate level of NEPA documentation and conduct associated consultation and permitting requirements
Step 7. Prepare final Compendium regulations and release to public
Step 8. Install appropriate channel markers and signs
Step 9. Conduct public outreach and education on new zone
Step 10. Conduct pre-implementation baseline condition monitoring
Step 11. On-the-water education and enforcement of the new zone
