The National Park Service is evaluating the requests by the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the R.D. Merrill Company to obtain road use permits to roads within Olympic National Park for commercial use to access their lands west of Lake Crescent for timber management activities. This process will likely require the preparation of an environmental assessment. The National Park Service is currently scoping to determine the range of issues and alternatives to be addressed in the environmental assessment.
