Plan Process

The project is currently in the public scoping phase. Once scoping is completed, public and internal comments will be used to shape the final alternative(s). Once the final alternative(s) is identified the Environmental Assessment will be written. After several levels of internal review, the EA will be released to the public for review and comments. These comments will be reviewed and if found to be substantive will be incorporated into the EA. Depending on number and complexity of public comments, the EA will either be re-written and re-released to the public or a formal statement of "Finding of No Significant Impacts" (FONSI) will be developed. If the impacts are significant the park staff will make a decision to start an Environmental Impact Statement, abandon the project or modify the project to lessen impacts below the level of significance.
