The following process steps comply with all federal laws, regulations, and policies applicable to public recreation fee collection.

Step 1. Develop draft fee proposal
Step 2. Public review of draft fee proposal
Step 3. Analysis of public comment
Step 4. Revise and finalize fee proposal
Step 5. Submit fee proposal for internal agency approval to implement
NPS plans to implement the proposed fees under the authority of the Federal Land Recreation Enhance Act as early as summer 2024 pending analysis of public comments and internal agency approval. A pilot for public EV charging fees may be implemented earlier (as early as summer 2023) under NPS's commercial services authority.
