Parkplanning and PEPC will be offline for Data Center maintenance from 1:45 PM MT on Fri., Apr. 19th to as late as 3:00 PM MT on Mon., Apr. 22nd.

The San Juan Island NHP Fire Management Plan is
required to be updated at 5-year intervals. Each
scheduled update must be accompanied by an
Environmental Assessment (EA) that evaluates the
impacts that fire management activities proposed
for the next 5-year period (e.g., 2005-2009) will
have on human health and safety, park natural and
cultural resources, developed facilities and
adjacent property. The process for the current
cycle began in early 2004. External scoping was
conducted in April 2004. Alternatives were
developed, environmental impacts identified and
evaluated, and a preferred alternative selected.
This effort culminated in a draft Environmental
Assessment (EA) that is being released for a 30-
day public review and comment period beginning on
March 2, 2005 and ending on April 1, 2005.
Following this review, public comments will be
analyzed and a final EA prepared. This decision
document will be signed by the National Park
Service Pacific West Regional Director and
released to the public.
