Description:
The National Park Service is preparing a Paige Boulder Watershed Restoration Plan and EA for restoring areas disturbed by historic activities including logging and mining, and restoring streams. The purpose for watershed restoration is to reduce chronic and catastrophic sedimentation to lower Clear Creek Critical Habitat for salmon and steelhead. Erosion and sediments from the Paige Boulder watershed negatively impacts spawning habitat and restoration efforts in lower Clear Creek. Proposed is removing relic logging features and restoring the stream crossing along these disturbed areas. Sections of two trails could be impacted from watershed restoration including Salt Gulch and Kanaka Peak. The proposed work will significantly reduce future sedimentation from the most erosive portions of Paige Boulder watershed to lower Clear Creek. The National Park Service would like to hear your thoughts about the purposed restoration activities by attending the meeting and/or commenting on the draft alternatives.
Meeting Directions/Instructions:
