The NPS is seeking your input on a proposal to use silvicultural techniques to accelerate restoration of old growth forest conditions on 1048 acres of dense underdeveloped second growth forests in Redwood National Park. Please join park staff to learn about the proposed treatments and to share your views and concerns.

Description:
The Middle Fork Lost Man Creek watershed, located north of Orick, regenerated after commercial timber harvest nearly 50 years ago to a dense, Douglas-fir dominated forest. The stands have been left untreated since that time. The NPS is proposing to accelerate restoration of old growth forest conditions by thinning these second growth forests to reduce overall stem density and increase redwood dominance.

Meeting Directions/Instructions:
Take Indianola Cutoff off US Highway 101 south of Arcata and north of Eureka. Southbound traffic use caution crossing northbound lanes; cross traffic does not stop. Go 0.4 miles and turn left on Indianola Road. HAF is on north side of Indianola Road.
