Listening Session 1: NHL Special History Study - Revolutionary War | ||||
Date | Start Time | End Time | Time Zone | Location |
---|---|---|---|---|
Jul 31, 2024 | 10:00 AM | 11:30 AM | Eastern | Virtual N/A N/A, X - Unknown or N/A |
Description:
The National Park Service's Interior Region 2 National Historic Landmarks (NHL) Program commissioned a Special History Study in advance of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. The study will support the interpretation of NHLs in the Southeastern United States focusing on the experiences of people who have often been left out of the standard historical narratives of the Revolution.
The NPS is requesting input from the public in these webinars to help guide the content of the study. Information about underrepresented groups or lesser-known histories related to specific NHLs will help the NPS create a more useful and inclusive document. Suggestions for potential products and educational materials to supplement the Special History Study are also encouraged.
We hope all in attendance feel comfortable in developing the untold stories surrounding and extending beyond the American Revolution. Thus, discussion is welcome from those not only with connections to sites that have histories that occurred before or after the Revolutionary Period but also any others who have an interest! If you do not feel comfortable speaking at this time, please send along your comments through this form: https://forms.office.com/g/NT03dzyTbr
