Frozen Lake Surface Access and Use Plan

Voyageurs National Park » Frozen Lake Surface Access and Use Plan » Document List

Voyageurs National Park (the park) will be developing a Frozen Lake Surface Access and Use Plan to guide the management of frozen lake surfaces in the park, mostly related to public use off-road vehicles (ORV) and ice shelters. We have initiated a civic engagement process for the purpose of gathering public input to assist the park in developing a long-term management plan for frozen lake surface access and use. This represents the first opportunity for the public to engage in this planning process. There will be other opportunities to provide your input as this planning process moves forward.

We invite you to participate in the planning process by submitting your ideas to help inform frozen lake surface management at the park. We would like to hear any thoughts and ideas you feel are relevant and important for this planning process.

The public comment period will begin on Tuesday, March 28. There are three ways to submit comments on this planning effort during this civic engagement period.

The preferred method is through this website by clicking the "Open For Comment" tab on the left side of this page and then clicking on the "Civic Engagement Newsletter" document and clicking on the "Comment Now" button.

You may also attend one of the in-person public meetings and fill out a comment form.

We are also accepting comments by mail at the following address:

The public comment period will close on June 3, 2023.

Thank you for your interest in this process!
