The purpose of this project is for the preparation of a Management Plan Amendment/Environmental Assessment (Plan/EA) for Glen Echo Park, part of the George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP) located in Montgomery County, Maryland.
This Plan/EA will serve as an amendment to the 2001 Management plan/Environmental Impact Statement for Glen Echo Park. It will explore adding arts programs; improving accessibility, circulation, and wayfinding; and incorporating sustainability measures. The plan will consider modifying existing facilities, building new ones, and potentially expanding areas managed by its formal partner and sub cooperator, Montgomery County, MD and Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture, respectively. Financially feasible options will be prioritized, and historical and cultural resources will be considered. The Plan/EA will select a preferred approach for approval by the National Capital Planning Commission.
