Non-Native Vegetation Management Plan

Grand Teton National Park » Non-Native Vegetation Management Plan » Document List

In 2018, GTNP, initiated public scoping to implement a park-wide plan to prevent the establishment and spread of terrestrial non-native invasive plant species and to restore, as needed, native plant communities. At the time, a variety of treatment methods were proposed, including mechanical, chemical, cultural, and biological. After further review, it was determined that, apart from biological treatments, the actions proposed within the vegetation management planning effort are currently approved at the park level as categorical excluded activities. Therefore, the Environmental Assessment process was terminated. Biological control treatments are not planned at this time and further environmental review would be initiated before action can be taken.

Project Status: The management plan EA was released for public review and comment in May of 2018 has been terminated. Non-native vegetation management and restoration will continue to occur within the scope of the categorically excluded actions. Further environmental review would be initiated for proposals that exceed the approved scope.
