Replace Towpath Boardwalk at Stumpy Basin

The National Park Service (NPS), Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CUVA, the Park), proposes to replace a boardwalk along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail that is structurally failing and creating safety hazards for visitors. The boardwalk is located in Boston Township south of the Turnpike I-80 bridge. The proposed boardwalk will match the existing boardwalk in width, however, the northwestern-most segment along the Cuyahoga River is proposed to shift 50 feet north. This segment is approximately 800 linear feet and will provide a buffer from the meandering river.
