Lincoln Home National Historic Site » Replace apple trees in-kind, in Block 10, Lot 8 (Lincoln Home), Block 6, Lot 9 (Shutt House), and Block 7, Lot 13 (Lyon House) » Document List

Using the park's current Cultural Landscape Plan (2014), apple trees that are dying, or have already died, will be replaced in kind. The trees were located in Block 10, Lot 8, the Lincoln Home backyard (HS-01); Block 6, Lot 9, in the backyard of the Shutt House (HS-17); and Block 7, Lot 13, the Lyon House backyard (HS-08). The old stumps will be removed in anticipation of a new tree with a root ball. All three are located in disturbed areas and the Lincoln Home area was also excavated in 1985 by Northern Illinois University.
