Redwood National Park Foundation Document

Redwood National Park » Redwood National Park Foundation Document » Document List

I am pleased to announce that the National Park Service (NPS) in parternship with California State Parks has completed a Foundation Document to guide planning and management of Redwood National and State Parks. A Foundation Document examines the core mission and significance of a park, its most important resources and values, the interpretive themes that tell the important stories of the park, and special mandates and administrative commitments. While the document does not include actions or management strategies, it offers an opportunity to integrate and coordinate all types and levels of planning from a single, shared understanding of what is most important about the parks.

We invite you to read and reflect on the descriptions of the parks' significant resources and values. We are excited to share the Foundation Document with you.

Sincerely,

David Roemer
Deputy Superintendent
