Proposed Fee Increases at Grand Canyon National Park

Grand Canyon National Park » Proposed Fee Increases at Grand Canyon National Park » Document List

Grand Canyon National Park is seeking public comment on a proposal to increase entrance fees from the current $25 per vehicle for a seven-day pass to $30 per vehicle. Under the proposal, the fee for a motorcycle would be raised from the current $12 per rider to a flat $25 per motorcycle, the per person (individual) fee raised from $12 to $15 and the annual pass raised from $50 to $60. These proposed fee increases do not affect commercial entrance fees.

The additional revenue collected from the proposed fee increases will be used to enhance visitor services, including repair and maintenance of park facilities, preservation and maintenance of visitor service buildings, providing and improving additional park programs and transportation services, and increasing resource protection services.

Fees at Grand Canyon National Park have not incurred an increase since 2006, despite escalating costs for operating and maintaining the park.

Entrance fees are not charged to persons under 16 years of age or holders of the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Senior, Access or Military Passes. These passes may be obtained at the park. Interagency Passes, which are honored at all federally managed land units, are not affected by the proposed fee increase and will remain at $80 for the Interagency Annual Pass, $10 for the Senior Pass and free for the Access or Military passes.
