Dinosaur National Monument Protocol for Exotic Rocky Mountain Goat Restriction and Removal

Dinosaur National Monument » Dinosaur National Monument Protocol for Exotic Rocky Mountain Goat Restriction and Removal » Document List

During the summer of 2014, a male Rocky Mountain goat was seen inside the monument boundary on several occasions and again in June 2015 and June 2016. While native to the Northern Rockies, mountain goats are considered exotic in this area. Per NPS Management Policy, exotic animals must be removed. The purpose of this process is to establish how Dinosaur National Monument will address Rocky Mountain goats that are found in or near the monument boundary.
