Capulin Volcano National Monument Proposes Entrance Fee Increases

Capulin Volcano National Monument » Capulin Volcano National Monument Proposes Entrance Fee Increases » Document List

Capulin Volcano National Monument is seeking public comment on a proposal to raise entry fees. Under the proposal Capulin Volcano would raise the single vehicle entrance fee from $5 to $7 for a seven-day pass. Individual entrance fees would increase from $3 to $4 for a seven-day pass. Park specific annual passes would increase from $10 to $15. The park is also proposing to establish a motorcycle entry fee, which will be comparable to the individual pass.

The proposed increase is part of a larger National Park Service initiative to standardize fees for parks offering similar visitor experiences. Fees at Capulin Volcano have not increased since 2001, despite escalating costs for running the park. New fees could be implemented in early 2015. However, feedback will determine, how, or if a fee increase would be implemented.

Further information on this proposal can be found by clicking the "Document List" link at the left of this page. Comments on the Entrance Fee Proposal may be submitted by clicking the document entitled "Entrance Fee Proposal." Comments will be accepted through midnight MST January 16, 2015, through this website, or mailed to: Superintendent, Attn: Fee Proposal, P.O. Box 40, Des Moines, NM, 88418.
