Move gutter and repair leaks in roof on south side of Dean House (HS-13)

Lincoln Home National Historic Site » Move gutter and repair leaks in roof on south side of Dean House (HS-13) » Document List

The guttering system in the valley between two parts of the second floor roof on the Dean House (HS-13) is badly designed, allowing rain run-off to run under the roof and along the fascia board and leak into the office below through the ceiling. The office has been flooded and damaged several times in the past. It is located directly over a permanent exhibit area. The project will pull the guttering system out from under the roof so that rain run-off will fall directly onto the one-storey porch roof below and into the guttering system on the porch roof. The valley is located between the west wing of the house and the south elevation. The porch is located on the south side of the house.

All gutter material will be lead-coated copper. Any shingles needing replacing will be #1 blue label cedar shingles.
