Peaks to Craters Scenic Byway Wayside Exhibit Plan

Craters Of The Moon National Monument & Preserve » Peaks to Craters Scenic Byway Wayside Exhibit Plan » Document List

The purpose of this proposal is to provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about and experience Craters of the Moon beyond the 7 mile Loop Drive and this 4 mile stretch of highway. The goal of providing wayside exhibits in the Preserve is a management action that was identified in the Monument Management Plan (2005) and the CRMO Long Range Interpretive Plan (2007). Both of these documents were crafted by interagency teams including NPS and BLM employees. In 2010 this stretch of highway was included in a new Scenic Byway. The Peaks to Craters Scenic Byway Corridor Management Committee, made up of local citizens, has been advised of this proposal and unanimously supports it.
