The National Park Service at Fort Sumter National Monument proposes to replace a deteriorated roof on the Museum at Fort Sumter, and use this opportunity to establish a renewable energy demonstration project at Fort Sumter National Monument. National parks are ideal places to showcase the federal government's commitment to promoting energy-efficient and renewable energy technologies and practices.
In order to provide a participatory decision-making framework, an Environmental Assessment will be prepared to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act and the National Historic Preservation Act. The National Park Service encourages public participation throughout this process.
