Wawona Ranger Office Propane Trench

Yosemite National Park » Wawona Ranger Office Propane Trench » Document List

A propane line needs to be installed to supply emergency power to the Ranger Office from the back-up generator. Archeological monitoring and American Indian consultation will occur prior to and during the installation of the trench for the propane line. No ground disturbance will occur until consultation is complete. As power is critical to the operation of the Ranger Office in cases of emergencies, there will be a temporary above-ground line installed until all consultation has occurred. The permanent line involves digging a 12 feet long, 12 inches wide, and 16 inches deep trench from the rear of the Wawona Ranger Office to the back-up generator shed. This area has been previously disturbed. All utilities installation would be performed by park utilities staff. Trench details have been reviewed by the park design and engineering staff.
