Welcome to the project website for the Chattahoochee Trace National Heritage Corridor Feasibility Study.

The feasibility study area straddles the Chattahoochee River in southwest Georgia and southeast Alabama. Composed of a total of eighteen counties, the area covers 8,358 square miles with a 2009 estimated total population of 782,282. Gently rolling and dominated by agriculture, the Chattahoochee River bisects the area, forming a spine that has for hundreds of years served as a pathway for migration, commerce, economics and most recently recreation. There are 360 National Historic Register properties and districts that dot the landscape throughout the river corridor.

The Final Chattahoochee Trace National Heritage Corridor Feasibility Study was completed in July 2015 and is available for public viewing or downloading on this site under the link "Document List."
