February 16, 2011: We invite comments on this environmental assessment to Re-Route the Barber Peak Loop Trail outside of the Hole-in-the-Wall Campground in Mojave National Preserve. The proposed segment is 0.7 miles in length and will allow trail users to complete the loop without traversing the campground, and to start and finish their hike at the trailhead. If the trail is not re-routed, potential conflicts between trail users and campgorund occupants will continue, the trail will not finish where it begins and it will not lead trail users back to their vehicles at the trailhead.
