The City of Brecksville, in cooperation with the National Park Service is in the process of preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the restoration of a drainage channel in the Riverview-Wiese Rd. area. The EA will include discussions of the proposed project's potential impacts to environmental and recreation resources. This document is being prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and the regulations of the Council on Environmental Quality (40 CFR 1508.9)
Over time, sediment has significantly filled the channel and culvert thereby greatly reducing the capacity to effectively transport flow, leading to flooding of roads and nearby yards. This flooding causes significant public health and safety concerns for those residing in the area and the traveling public. Remedies are being planned to address these problems.
