This project will remove worn and deteriorated asphalt walkways, replacing with colored concrete. The trail consists of about 527 linear feet of eight-foot wide trail plus viewing area for a total of 8,476 square feet (~950 square yards of new paving material). If possible the grade will be adjusted to meet current outdoor accessibility guidelines to a viewing area at the highest point on the trail at the intersection with the Rim Trail. (Below that point grades are too steep to meet accessibility guidelines.) The maximum grade change will be approximately two feet of cut and/or fill for more gradual, consistent grades. Existing stone wall/curbing will be replaced with salvageable stones used for new retaining walls.
