Expansion of Cades Cove Bicyle Concession Bldg.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park » Expansion of Cades Cove Bicyle Concession Bldg. » Document List

Great Smoky Mountains National Park proposes modest improvements that will increase the footprint of the concession-operated Cades Cove Campground Store. The Park is conducting an Environmental Assessment of the potential impacts of these changes.

The facility was constructed in 1958 and was adequate at the time to support the visitation and the range of services of that time period. An increase in both number of visitors served and the type of services has rendered, the current structure inadequate. The proposal is to expand the structures by about 1,600 s/f to allow the rental bikes to be stored indoors and to increase storage for firewood and retail stock.
